Raised in Northern Virginia, Dr. Shambayati has over 20 years of dental experience and has been serving the Tysons Corner community since 2014. She loves that her job allows her to meet so many people and to help them get out of pain. Nothing makes her happier than seeing the relief on someone’s face. "Since the age of 5, I wanted to be a doctor and help people. In college, I had two best friends who wanted to go to dental school, so I started volunteering for my dentist at the time and became very interested in the field of endodontics. This led me to start applying to dental school in hopes of becoming an endodontist.”
Dr. Shambayati completed her undergraduate education at George Mason University, and then she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Case Western Reserve University. She continued her education at Stony Brook University and obtained a certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry. She went on to complete a 2-year post-graduate program in endodontics at Stony Brook University and received her certificate in 2003.
Dr. Shambayati is committed to ongoing education in order to keep up to date with the latest advancements in endodontics, which is why she is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, the Virginia Dental Association, and the Northern Virginia Dental Society.
Dr. Shambayati comes from a large family, so a lot of her free time is spent with her sisters, nieces, and nephews. She also likes to take road trips with her son to explore our beautiful country, particularly the scenic bridges and roads. Dr. Shambayati is involved in her son’s school and enjoys volunteering at his school. She is a big soccer and hockey fan, so at home, you’ll often find her cheering on her beloved Washington Capitals.
